Welcome to my blog!

My name's Jeané and as a intermediate level birdwatcher - my motivation for starting this blog is rooted in my love for birds which extends to nature and conservation.
My idea for starting this blog is due to South Africa's increasing reputation as a birding hotspot and in this blog, I hope to highlight several locations within SA that I feel holds some promise to any keen birder or birdwatcher - whether to increase your bird count; or to find and/or explore new destinations ; or that you simply have a pure love for nature and birds.
Through this blog - while recording my experiences with South Africa's many birding and birdwatching opportunities - I am also including some features such as ways to identify the more difficult of the bird families, such as the LBJs, raptors and the waders (I already have done an entry to identify LBJs titled 'Identifying Little Brown Jobs' - the raptors and waders might hopefully be done in the future).

Feel free to also check out two other features titled 'Journey as Bird Lover' and 'A Birdwatcher's Library' respectively with the former providing details involving my bird watching background and the latter consisting of a constant upgrading bibliography of bird-related literary works both fiction and non-fiction that I recommend to any nature or bird enthusiast.

In relation to the blog's layout - to find content just use the archive on the right hand side of the page where the entries are sorted according to the entrie's published date.

Regardless, thank you for supporting this blog.

If you like the idea of my blog, feel free to share this page via social media found at the end of the page and I would appreciate if the same could be done by any other article you encounter.
